Improve your fruit cakes or muffins with these dried apricots. Fresh apricots are notoriously bad travellers, so these dried ones are a great alternative.
Are dried apricots good for you?
Apricots are an excellent source of vitamin A, a very good source of vitamin C, and a good source of dietary fibre and potassium.
Apricots contain phytochemicals called carotenoids, compounds that give red, orange and yellow colours to fruits and vegetables and that are correlated with various health benefits (especially eye health). The powerful antioxidant Lycopene is one of the carotenoids found in apricots.
Dried apricots are also a great aid for digestion and constipation. The alkali found in dried apricots neutralises stomach acids, while the cellulose and pectin found in dried apricots helps to maintain hydration with its insoluble fibres.
Sulphites free
This product contains no sulphites for preservation, therefore they are ideal for people who suffer from a sulphite allergy. They are a natural brownish orange colour, instead of the bright orange of sulphured apricots.
These Apricots Unsulphured Turkey are available in a range of sizes, all packed in Plastic Free packaging. We use plant-based cellulose bags for these products. Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.
