Quinoa (keen-wah) has been cultivated for over 5,000 years and came from South America.
Although classified as a grain it is actually the fruit of the Goosefoot plant. It is a small, round grain and is used in everything from breakfast cereal, soups, stews, salads and bread.
What are the benefits of quinoa??
Quinoa seed is high in protein, calcium and iron, a relatively good source of vitamins E, C and several of the B group. Also contains fibre. It has an almost perfect balance of all eight essential amino acids needed for tissue growth. Quinoa is a balanced amino acid source of high quality, complete protein with a low glycaemic index.
Quinoa also contains albumin and has no gluten containing ingredients.

Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.
