What do you use walnuts for?
Excellent as a snack, they're often in savoury and sweet dishes, to add crunch or texture. Often paired with sweet things like dark chocolate, caramel or vanilla. Walnuts can be spiced up with cayenne, sriracha or barbeque if you prefer a kick and they're also popular on cheese boards. Try roasting walnuts gently with your favourite spices and adding to dishes or simply break some up and sprinkle through a salad.
Why are walnuts called brain food?
Walnuts contain the 'good fats' and are also surprisingly high in omega-3 and 6, as well as other antioxidants. They're often referred to as 'brain food' partly from these nutrients helping protect your brain, but also because they can look like tiny brains!
