Are dried figs good for you?
Try flavourful figs as a snack or in your favourite recipes. Dried figs are an excellent source of dietary fibre, a wealth of essential minerals such as potassium, iron and calcium and rich in health-promoting antioxidants and complex carbohydrates.
Should dried figs be soaked before eating?
They don’t have to be. It does help to plump them up and it’s often suggested as a helpful addition for constipation or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Eating 2-3 dried figs soaked in water overnight is often advised. Both dried and ripe figs are an exceptional source of soluble fibre which can help relieve digestive issues.
