What are Barley Flakes?
Barley Flakes can be eaten hot or cold, and are a terrific alternative to oat flakes. They have a nuttier, slightly sweeter flavour and chewier texture than oatmeal or flakes. Barley flakes, are made by removing the hull of wholegrain barley and then rolled and steamed to create the flakes.
Are Barley Flakes healthy?
Barley is a very healthy grain. It's rich in vitamins, minerals and other beneficial plant compounds. It's also high in fibre, which is responsible for most of the health benefits, ranging from a better digestion to reduced hunger and feelings of satiety.
These Organic Barley Flakes are available in a range of sizes, all packed in Plastic Free packaging. We use plant-based cellulose bags for these products. Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.
