Semolina is a type of flour used in making homemade pasta and some Italian desserts or a delicate simple cream, perfect for an easy baby dinner. Semolina is simply durum wheat ground to a coarse texture with all fine flour sifted out.
How can you use semolina?
Semolina is a refined product, not a whole grain. In addition to its use in baked goods, confections and pasta, semolina may be a thickening ingredient in soup or cooked as a porridge.
Why is semolina good for you?
Low in saturated fats and sodium, high in protein (although not complete protein as it lacks some of the essential amino acids that your body cannot produce on its own). A source of selenium, potassium, folate and thiamine.
These Semolina are available in a range of sizes, all packed in Plastic Free packaging. We use plant-based cellulose bags for these products. Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.
