What are the benefits of eating pineapple?
Eating fresh pineapple is a good way to get important dietary fibre, manganese (a useful antioxidant), thiamine (a B vitamin that’s used in energy production) and bromelain (an enzyme). An 80g portion (one average slice) counts as one of your five-a-day. One 150ml glass of pineapple juice also counts, but be aware that this is high in sugars and can be damaging to teeth. For this reason, one 150ml glass can only count as one portion of your 5-a-day regardless of the amount consumed.
How do I store pineapples?
Store pineapples in your fruit bowl. Once cut, keep the pineapple in an airtight container in the fridge. Suitable for home freezing.
THese pineapples are sold loose and have absolutely no plastic packaging.
